Sometimes we are thrown off balance and need to take extra special care of ourselves. This is especially true during quarantine. Now more than ever, it is particularly important to be kind, caring, compassionate, generous, forgiving, and open-hearted. Let’s be grateful and embrace what we have. Let’s remember all the good in the world during challenging times. It is our choice. We can choose our perspective at any point in time. Let’s create the changes we need with every thought, action and behaviour. Let’s also Choose the Good.
Adjusting… with Empathy and Gratitude
In these extremely challenging times, I am filled with empathy and gratitude. My heart overflows with empathy for all of those who are directly affected by COVID-19 in our immediate and global communities. I deeply appreciate the effort of those on the front lines — in all capacities.
At the same time, I am filled with honour and gratitude when I see humanity working together. Joining heart to heart and soul to soul in support is best way to move forward and overcome.
I still dream of living in a world of peace where people support each other in a healthy and happy way. We can do this now or later…. but now is best. Please dream with me. Follow your heart. Take action in a big or small way. Do something kind and helpful to make a difference – while maintaining social distance!

Tumbling Joyfully
Doing laundry this weekend, I wanted my husband not to overload the dryer. Instead of explaining it in plain, concrete terms, I asked him to ensure our clothes were tumbling joyfully. He understood immediately and we laughed.
As I tumble joyfully through my life, I strive to embrace everything I experience with strength, joy, determination, grit, gratitude, steadfastness, groundedness, happiness and appreciation. It means using a longitudinal lens and looking for the deeper meaning. It involves opening my heart to all the lessons before me. Sometimes, I need to ask for time, space or support to tumble, evolve and grow.
Sometimes it is easy; sometimes not, but the transformational end result is always worth it.
The only response is… Love
These are certainly turbulent times. Natural disasters are occurring in rapid succession. World leaders are posturing and showing their egos, instead of their hearts. Man-made tragedies are increasing common and heart-breaking. Individuals are becoming opinionated and reactive; anxious and tired.
Those of us who are “super-sonic sensitive” can feel the heaviness in the world right now. We feel the tension, confusion and restlessness. It seems beyond our control… but is it really?
The only real response to these turbulent times is… Love. It seems niave and too simple to believe but, just for a second, consider it. Sincere, heart-felt, genuine love has the capacity to transform blockages – even big blockages, with time, persistent effort and dedication.
We need to begin. Our love can dispel the darkness. Just as a small candle can light the way, love from one heart can make a difference. Love from many hearts can transform the world
Let the love from one heart be yours. Join your love with others. Joining heart-to heart and soul-to-soul in love is the way we can change the world.
Will the Sidewalks be Clear?
In the cold, snowy days of December, I often wonder if the sidewalks will be clear enough to get to and from work.
Two weeks ago, I woke up to a blanket of snow that accumulated overnight. It looked beautiful but it can be a barrier in terms of travel and accessibility. As I left for work, I wondered whether the sidewalks would be cleared.
As I set out, I was pleasantly surprised. It was smooth going…. until I needed to cross the street. The curb cut was ploughed in!
Here is where I really appreciate the kindness of others. There was a man, bundled up in winter gear, shovelling snow. I asked him if he would clear the patch of snow that was creating a barrier.
Not only did this man clear the snow, he did so with gusto!! He not only put his shovel and his back into the work, he put his heart into it as well. I felt his earnestness to make a difference!
The kindness of this stranger was extraordinary. It made my heart go….POOF WHOOSH!!!! I was filled with GRATITUDE!
Let’s Do More of This…
When we respond from a place of kindness, life suddenly becomes infinitely easier. When we celebrate the success of others, our hearts feel light and free. When we help each other, we experience connectedness and contentment. When we truly, deeply and unconditionally forgive, we are filled with a sense of enormous gratitude because we have created inner peace and inner joy. Let’s do more and more of this….
Being Heart-Centered
Sometimes life can be a tad stressful. All of us experience challenging times in order to grow, learn and change for the better. We find ways to adapt and get though those times. It is not easy. But, during all of life’s challenges, it is important to remember our hearts.
Staying heart-centred is so incredibly helpful and comforting. We remember who we are; who is important to us; and, why we do what we do. We connect with our hearts instead of our thoughts or emotions. We remember that the small annoyances in life are meaningless. They are only momentary triggers. Mere distractions.
Being heart-centred allows us to re-focus and stay grounded. It allows us to relax, reframe and cultivate hope. It allows us to feel better. We all want to be healthy and happy. How do we do this? We move from fear and anxiety into gratitude, forgiveness and love. We move into cultivating the relationships that are meaningful to us. We come back to ourselves, and to others, through our hearts.
Trust a Long Distance Lens
Have you noticed that life often throws us curve balls? We do not get something we really want. Or…things pop up unexpectedly, something that we did not want at all. Life is like that!
We might not always understand why things happen, but one thing is for sure. We will make the connections and see the big picture… later.
As we move forward in life, we are heading into the unknown. Anything can happen. It is uncharted territory. But, when we trust, we have some “bouncebackability” – some resilience.
Looking back on my life, I notice that when I accept not getting what I want, I was consistently given something better down the road. When something unexpected happened and I embraced it, I learned something important about myself, others or life. When I sincerely forgave, magic happened because I felt an inner peace and joy that was indescribable.
I know that when I have trust and a long distance lens, life seems a little easier. I understand how things fit together.
Forgiveness Can Move Cars
Recently, when my hubby and I returned home from being away, we found a very fancy sports car in our parking spot. The owner had removed his license plates and covered up the VIN. We left a note and asked him to move but he refused. No tow truck would move the car without plates. We felt stuck.
I could feel my irritation and frustration. I just wanted our parking spot back. I began to have fantasies about covering his car in balloons and streamers but I understood that I was just matching his unpleasant energy.
So, instead, I very earnestly and sincerely began to do forgiveness with his soul. A few times a day I would send oodles of forgiveness, compassion, light, and love to him. It wasn’t easy at first, but then I began to feel peaceful. Interestingly, within 36 hours, the owner moved his car from our parking spot to another spot in the garage! I felt very grateful and happy.
Forgiveness and kindness can shift energy and change circumstances. Forgiveness can heal hearts. Forgiveness can even move cars!
Delightful Responsibility:
It takes just a moment to notice that much of what is reported in the news everyday is not good.
I believe it is very important be aware of this…and then do something… Good.
If each of us does Something Good everyday – big or small – the impact is powerful. We feel better. We know we can make a difference. We think more positively. We feel happier and healthier!
Let’s join together heart-to-heart and soul-to-soul and Be the Good in the World. It is a delightful responsibility that we all share and can be part of!
