I recently had the experience of someone in a helping role behave in argumentative and unkind ways. The details of the experience are not important but I need to say her behavior was surprising. It shocked me to know that someone in a professional position would respond so unpleasantly.
I became quiet and observed. When she was argumentative, I softly spoke the truth. After she left, I called the agency to speak to a coordinator about the situation. I was assured that a supervisor would speak to the helper about the agency’s policy.
After my phone call, I continued to feel sad and unsettled. I needed to do something more! So, I began to send the helper my love, forgiveness and compassion. In my heart, I deeply believe that these positive qualities can heal and transform relationships and so much more.
It took some time for me to feel better, but it was well worth the effort. For me, opening my heart with love, forgiveness and compassion was the best way to respond. It helped me feel balanced, happy and strong again.
I am beyond grateful for these tools. They are easy and effective! I certainly want to continue to have a peaceful heart and peaceful mind in every part of my life. 🙂
