I love to smile. I remember in grade school trying to stifle my smile as I went past the teacher at the end of the day. Smiling came naturally! Yet, as I observed my peers, I noticed that others did not smile as often. I wanted to fit in at school so I tried hard not to smile. The thing is…. it didn’t work. I smiled anyway….
Then, I wondered why others did not smile as much. Years later, I still don’t know the answer. I just feel lucky that smiling is second nature to me.
A smile communicates brightness, connection, kindness and happiness. Even, if you are weary, a smile can communicate gratitude that you did not give up or at least you tried. It conveys compassion and tenderness. The powerful energy of a smile can be healing and it can stay with you long after the smile has faded.
Smiles are like snapshots in time. Memorable. Contagious. Meaningful. Heart-touching.
So, what does your smile say about you? How big is your smile?
